Betty Jane Sawyer, 93, of Circleville, went to be with the Lord her Savior of over 60 years, surrounded by her family on April 14, 2017.
She was born on Feb. 25, 1924, in Pickaway County, to William and Nellie (Starkey) Arledge.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her spouse, James Sawyer; son, William Franklin Sawyer; son-in-law, Doyle Manbevers; five brothers; three sisters; and by special friends, Rosie and Leighton McFerren.
She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, a leader for Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, and she loved to cook.
Betty is survived by her children, Tom (Janie) Sawyer, Joy Elaine Manbevers and Deborah Sawyer; grandchildren, Jonathan (Erika) Fowler, David (Cynthia) Fowler, Susan Sawyer, T. J. (Christine) Sawyer, Terry (Patricia) Giffin, Tammy Hall and Lisa (Matt) Ramey; great-grandchildren, Matthew (Gabby), Erick, Liam, Andrea, Astian, Tayler, Hannah, Hunter, Macie, MacKenzie, Thomas, Bubba, Chase, Dakota, Melissa, Jacob, Sydney, Meghan, Tyler, Taylor, Destiny, Christian, Josh, Gaberial and Little T; and by great-great-grandchildren, Mason, Abbie, Trinity, Teagan ,Salem, Bentley, Colton, Coby and Michael.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the Wellman Funeral Home with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial followed in Hitler Ludwig Cemetery. Friends called at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
