Robert Franklin Burton, 92, of Circleville, passed away on April 8, 2017, at the Wyngate Assisted Living Community of complications from Alzheimer’s.

He was born on Nov. 4, 1924, in Chillicothe, to Harry and Cora (Hammon) Burton.

Robert graduated from Adena, served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, went to watchmakers school in Elgin, Illinois, and opened Burton’s Jewelry in Circleville in 1951.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Julia (Michael) Burton; three brothers, Darwin, John and Olen; and sister, Leola Evans.

Robert is survived by his sons, Michael D. (Judith) and Robert “Pat” (Peg) Burton; grandchildren, Michele (Kevin) Litman, Nate (Muriel) Burton, Darrin Burton, Adriane (Tim) Scott and Tyler Burton; and by great-grandchildren, Caleb, Reagan, Jack and Mindaleigh.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 13, 2017, at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with burial to follow in Floral Hills Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimers Association, Central Ohio Chapter, 1379 Dublin Rd., Columbus, Ohio 43215.
