Mary Catherine Ward, age 92, went home to be with the Lord March 3, 2017, at Wesley Ridge Care Center.
She was born Nov. 11, 1924, in Pickaway County, to Dill and Bessie (Crosby) Ward.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Cockeriell, Olive Rathburn and Fern Coy; and brothers, Lester, Johnny and James.
She serviced at the Whitehall United Methodist Church for many years.
Mary worked at Joyce Shoes, General Electric in Circleville and retired from Western Electric in Columbus after 21 years of service.
All of her life she was a caregiver, always there for her family and many friends. She spent a lot of time with her 18 nieces and nephews. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and most of all traveling. She volunteered at Mount Carmel East during her retirement.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Evans Funeral Home, 4171 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Pastor Maxine Smith-Pierce will officiate. Interment will be in Reber Hill Cemetery, Ashville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Services and Methodist Elder Care.
