Dale Marvin “Butch” Russell, 79, of Williamsport, died at 7 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, where he had been a patient since Feb. 19.
Butch was born Sept. 29, 1937, in Ross County, to Clarence and Martha Kerns Russell.
He lived most of his life in the Williamsport community, where he was a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Daniel Steven Wycuff, in 2014; and by eight siblings.
Butch is survived by three children, Tina (Dennis) Wycuff of Mount Sterling, Pete Russell of Florida and Rita (Wade) Bainter of Chillicothe; five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gordon Russell of Chillicothe and Don (Betty) Russell of Kentucky; a sister, Barbara Helsel of Williamsport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland. Cremation will follow the visitation, and there will be no service.
