Forrest F. Gabriel, 87, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, at the Pickering House.
She was born July 11, 1929, in Athens County, and was the daughter of the late George F. and Stella Mae (Dowler) McKinley.
She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, Pythian Sisters in Stoutsville, O.E.S. and Clearcreek Valley Grange.
She is survived by two sons, Terrance C. Gabriel of Melbourne, Florida, and Phillip”Mark” (Patricia) Gabriel of Amanda; grandchildren, Mark (Teresa) Gabriel of Amanda, Sheila Stanley of Stoutsville, Terrance (Kathy) Gabriel, Anthony (Amber) Gabriel and Frankie Gabriel, all of Florida; great-grandchildren, Britiany (Brian) Armstrong, Brett (Kylie) Bentz, Becca Bentz, Brandon Stanley, Taylor, Christian, Chloe and Bella Gabriel; and a great-great-granddaughter, Addison Armstrong.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Gabriel; great-great-granddaughter, Isabella Armstrong; four sisters, Alice McKinley, Mamie Arnold, Marjorie Turner and Sylvia Thompson; and five brothers, James, Carl, Herman, Dewey and Chester McKinley.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Dave Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Amanda Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
