Harold Holdren Jr.

Harold Holdren Jr., 90, of Circleville, entered into Heaven on Jan. 26, 2017, at OSU Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born Aug. 4, 1926, the son of the late Harold and Tilly (Arledge) Holdren Sr.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen Louise (Potts) Holdren, in 2013.

He is survived by his children, Ted (Michelle) Holdren of Kingston, Vicki (Carl) Lemaster of Kingston and Nancy (Chris) Speakman of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Chris and Shawn Hempstead, Aaron Lemaster, Alycia and Thaddeus Holdren and Sarah Thornton; 16 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathy Holdren; and special cousins, Sonny DeLong and Bob Ogan. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Roger and David Holdren.

Harold proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II in the 771 Tank Battalion serving under General George Patton’s command. He was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 291, Kingston.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at the Hill Funeral Home, Kingston, with Rev. John Ruiz officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with military honors. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hill’s.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Harold’s name to the American Legion Post 291, P.O. Box 111, Kingston, OH 45644.
