Lucia F. Karshner

Lucia Faye Karshner, 82, of Tarlton, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016, at Grant Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 30, 1933, in Tarlton, the daughter of George Deming and Northa Artimacial (Eveland) Karshner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Lula Mae Wolfe.

Lucia graduated from Saltcreek Twp. High School in 1951 and went to work as a secretary at Nationwide Insurance. She later went to work with her mother in the family business at Tarlton Town Tavern until it was sold in 2003.

Lucia was funny, compassionate, loving and very generous; however, it is said that she didn’t take any s— off of anybody; she told it like it was and if you didn’t want to hear the truth, then you better not ask her.

She enjoyed playing Flinch with the great-grandchildren, Euchre, Solitaire and working word search puzzles. She amazed her grandkids with her talent for shooting marbles. Lucia also enjoyed making quilts as gifts for friends and family.

Lucia is survived by her daughter, Rita Karshner; grandchildren, Denver (Karalea) Karshner, Judson (Valerie) Karshner and Michaela (Jake) Cottrill; great-grandchildren, Zophia, Chloe, Austin, Rylee, Bill and Ray; brother-in-law, Ed Wolfe; and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Lucia’s request, no visitation or services will be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pickaway Twp. EMS, 579 Tarlton Rd., Circleville, OH 43113.
