Charles G. Blankenship, 77, of Ashville, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 9, 2016.

He was born on May 31, 1938, in West Hamlin, West Virginia, to the late Seybert and Reba Mae (Cooper) Blankenship.

Charles was a co-founder of the former American Plastics Extruding in Columbus. He owned and raised horses for harness racing at the Scioto Downs, and he was known by his family as a Jack of all trades.

He was preceded in death by sister, Thelma Jordan; and brothers, Eugene and Leo.

He is survived by his wife 11 years, Connie S. (Miller) Blankenship; son, Charles E. (Christine L.) Blankenship; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; step-son, Richard Miller; step-daughter, Pamela (Jon) Stapleton; five step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; sister, Maxine (Albert) Hannon; sister-in-law, Mary Blankenship; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016, at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2016, with Pastor Gary Heimbach officiating at Reber Hill Cemetery, Ashville.
