CIRCLEVILLE – A collision on U.S. Route 22 in front of Ohio Christian University sent one person to the hospital Friday with minor injuries.

Sherri Burns, 20, of Circleville, was cited for assured clear distance ahead after her vehicle rear-ended a vehicle driven by Klee Underwood, 29, of Circleville, at the entrance to the university campus.

According to Deputy Tracy Andrews, Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office, both vehicles were traveling westbound on Route 22 when a vehicle in front of Underwood slowed down to make a right turn into the OCU parking lot.

Underwood also slowed down in response to the driver in front of him but Burns, driving behind him, did not, causing her to collide with Underwood’s vehicle.

Andrews said Burns was transported to Berger Hospital by Clearcreek EMS for treatment of minor injuries, and the scene was cleared in about 45 minutes.
