The Circleville High School Show Choir performed in its first-ever show choir competition Saturday at the Teays Valley Classic in Ashville.

The group earned a plaque for its participation in Festival class and earned the award for Best Combo in its class. Heather Bennett, a junior, also took home the award for Outstanding Performer for the group.

“I am so proud of all these students have achieved this year,” said Cynthia Braswell, choir director. “We are slowly taking the Show Choir to new levels, and competing in the Teays Valley Classic was a first step. The students were inspired by all of the amazing performances they witnessed and have some great ideas for our future.”

The music department is now gearing up to present “Seussical, the Musical” at 7 p.m. March 20 and 21 and 3 p.m. March 22 in the high school auditorium. Tickets are $7 in advance through March 18 or $8 at the door. Tickets may be purchased in the office at the high school during school hours or through EZ Pay for students and parents.
