Douglas Wayne Buckler, 58, of Mt. Sterling, passed away at home surrounded by his family after a brief illness.

He was born on May 1, 1957, in Loraine, to the late Leslie N. and Joyce Ann (Curtis) Buckler.

Doug worked for Morgan’s Appliance and Repair in Circleville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army for 10 years from 1976 until 1986, ending his career as a Sergeant. A graduate of Teays Valley High School in 1976, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Sherri L. (Morgan); children, Shelley Tucker, Scott Buckler and Stephanie (Jimmy) Allen; grandchildren, Chris, Jaylyn and Josh Tucker and Jacob and Lucas Allen; great-grandson, Davis Tucker; brothers, David (Kathy) Buckler, Darryl Buckler and Dennis Buckler; sisters, Debra Hill and Diane Buckler (Michael Overfield); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville, with a service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2015, with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow in Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield, with military honors provided by AMVETS Post 2256.
