Brenda Groves

Brenda Sue (Hoover) Groves, 60, of Ashville, passed away on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015, at home.

She was born April 28, 1955, in Circleville, to the late Richard and Maxine I. (Young) Hoover.

Brenda was a 1974 graduate of Teays Valley High School and had worked at VFW Post 7941, South Bloomfield, and more recently at the Eagle’s #685 in Circleville as a waitress. She was a member of VFW, Eagles, American Legion and AMVETS.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Charles E. Groves.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Greg A. Groves; sons, Troy Groves of Ashville and Tyson Groves (Kali Badgley, fiancee) of Hilliard; two grandsons, Darrien and Troy Jr.; brothers, Robert (Beverly) Hoover and Richard (Patricia) Hoover, all of Ashville; mother-in-law, Laura Groves of Circleville; brother-in-law, Glenn (Cathy) Groves of South Bloomfield; special friends, Lavern and Brenda #2; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family would like to thank Berger Hospice for their great care.

Calling hours are from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at the Oliver-Cheek Funeral Home, 420 W. Main St., Ashville, with a service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, with James Gregg officiating. Burial will follow in Harrison Township Cemetery, South Bloomfield.

Family request in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the funeral home for expenses.
