CIRCLEVILLE – A robbery suspect got more than he bargained for Tuesday during an attempted robbery of the Cash Advance office on the city’s south end.

According to Detective Thomas Royster, an African-American male entered the office at 1025 S. Court St. wearing a mask and demanded the clerk fill up a bag with cash. Royster said the suspect did not show a weapon.

A second clerk at the business, however, did have a semi-automatic pistol and reportedly brandished the weapon and aimed it at the suspect. The male then fled the store on foot.

The suspect is described as a male with a thin build, about 6′ to 6’2″ tall, wearing a black windbreaker, blue jeans and a mask pulled up to his nose.

Witnesses reported he ran on foot to a waiting vehicle parking at the Twin Oaks apartment complex driven by an unknown white male. The vehicle is described as a gold SUV, possibly a Ford with silver wheels and a luggage rack on top, with no front license plate.

No injuries were reported in the incident, and no money was taken.

Anyone with information on the suspect, the vehicle or the driver is urged to contact the Circleville Police Department at 740-474-8888.
