Circleville Police Reports

October 30

– Extra patrol was requested in the 100 block of Evergreen Avenue after a caller reported he heard knocking at a neighbor’s residence and saw several subjects running from the residence. Officers were advised.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Full Circle Skateboard on West Main Street. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 100 block of Fairview Blvd. came to the police station to request extra patrol in the area in the evenings for speeding vehicles. Information was obtained.

– A property owner requested an officer stand-by to check his rental property in the 300 block of Ray Avenue after receiving a text from the tenants telling him they had moved out. A significant amount of trash was left at the residence, and damage was discovered. A report was taken.

– A resident in the 100 block of West High Street came to the police station to report the theft of money from his bank account.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at the north gym at Everts Middle School. The scene checked OK, and the service department was called to reset the alarm.

– A resident in the 500 block of Renick Avenue reported her car window had been busted on McCulloch Avenue.

– An officer took a report on assault at Circleville High School.

– A resident in the 100 block of Pontious Lane reported the theft of a power washer.

– The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office reported receiving a call from a South Washington Street resident regarding a possible scam by an auto repair business.

– A caller reported he was just rear-ended on South Court Street at Ohio Street. No report was taken by request, but a citation was issued.

– A 911 caller reported an active fight involving a group of teenagers at Dollar General on Lancaster Pike. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– The owner of Richie’s New York Deli reported graffiti had been painted on the pole in front of the business. A report was taken.

– An officer took a report on the theft of a cell phone at Circleville Elementary School.

– A caller reported a male in a vehicle parked beside CVS was passed out with an open beer bottle in the console. Officers advised the scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 600 block of East Main Street requested extra patrol after someone damaged her home trying to break in.

– A caller reported a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and passing vehicles recklessly coming into town on Stoutsville Pike. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– A resident came to the police station to report the rear door of the Pickaway-Ross school on East Mound Street was open. Officers determined the scene checked OK, and the keyholder arrived to secure the building.

– Officers performed a well-being check in the 300 block of East High Street. The subject checked OK.

– A caller reported an audible alarm going off at Full Circle Skateboard on West Main Street. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 800 block of Maplewood Avenue reported telephone harassment. A report was taken.

– A 911 caller reported a male was trying the doors of the old upholstery building behind CVS. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Circleville Apothecary on North Court Street. The scene checked OK.

– Terry Beachy of Pontious Lane was arrested at the Duke and Duchess station on East Main Street for disorderly conduct by intoxication.

October 31

– A 911 caller reported a known female subject was intoxicated and was driving in the area of Town Street. All units were advised.

– A 911 caller reported someone had been running up and knocking on doors and windows in the 400 block of Faye Avenue, and three or four subjects were seen running toward Lincoln Heights. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area. A second 911 call reported someone just attempted to break into the residence through a window, but at the time of that call, the officer was sitting beside the residence.

– A resident in the 500 block of Gumm Place reported someone attempted to open the door of his residence. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Pickaway County Banking Center on South Court Street. The scene checked OK.

– The Washington Court House Police Department requested officers make contact with a subject on Sycamore Drive regarding a hit-skip accident that happened 20 minutes before. Information was obtained and given to the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office.

– A 911 caller reported a fire in the 900 block of South Court Street at the Twin Oaks apartments. The Circleville Fire Department handled the scene.

– A resident in the 300 block of South Court Street came to the police station to report an abandoned vehicle in front of his property.

– A resident in the 100 block of East Mill Street reported a chicken was running around his back yard. The chicken was captured and returned to its owner.

– A caller reported traffic was backed up at Northridge Road and North Pickaway Street, and she believed a vehicle had hit a dog. Officers were unable to locate.

– The Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office reported receiving a call about a female who yelled at a child and then struck the child across the face at Rural King on U.S. Route 23. The PCSO advised South Bloomfield Police would perform a welfare check on the child.

– A caller reported she backed into a U-Haul truck on Nicholas Drive.

– A 911 caller reported an active fight in the 400 block of Faye Avenue. A report was taken on a domestic dispute.

– A 911 caller reported a person got out of a vehicle and shot a BB gun at a train on South Court Street. Officers located the vehicle based on the license plate information and determined it was a plastic blow-up gun. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 100 block of West Union Street reported a male was going door to door asking for money. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– A 911 caller in the 300 block of Franklin Street reported her 6-year-old had been bitten by a dog and suffered injuries to the hand and face. The child was transported to Berger Hospital, and a report was taken.

– Kathy Giffin was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in the 400 block of Dearborn Avenue.

– A caller reported a known female subject was under the influence of narcotics and causing a problem in the area of Walnut and Pickaway streets. Officers advised the female checked OK.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at Circleville Elementary School. The scene checked OK.

– A caller reported a suspicious vehicle in the area of Cedar Heights and Mowrer, and the occupants were watching kids in the area. Officers were unable to locate.

– A 911 caller reported three males were causing a disturbance behind the Twin Oaks apartments on South Court Street. One subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and was being medically cleared by Berger Hospital before being taken to the Pickaway County Jail.

– Alec Higdon was arrested for theft at Kroger on Lancaster Pike.

– A resident in the 300 block of Clark Drive reported a known male and female keep driving past her house and harassing her.

– A 911 caller reported a woman came out of her house on Pleasant Street and beat on her card window, attempting to assault her while she was trying to pick up her daughter. Both parties were advised of disorderly conduct.

– A resident in the 100 block of Villa Drive reported a prowler was peeking in windows in the area. Officers were unable to locate the subject.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm at the Circleville Apothecary on North Court Street.

– Officers responded to reports of a large fight behind the Wit’s End pub on West Main Street. One subject was checked by a medic for injuries, and a report was taken on disorderly conduct by fighting.

November 1

– A 911 caller reported a male subject was trying to break into the back door of the residence on Brown Street. No report was taken by request after it was determined the male lived at the residence.

– A resident in the 400 block of Lancaster Pike reported someone was trying to open the front door of her apartment. Officers were unable to locate anyone in the area.

– A caller in the 700 block of South Washington Street reported he allowed a male and female to come inside to use the restroom, but they had been there for several hours and were refusing to leave. The subjects left prior to the officer’s arrival.

– A resident in the 100 block of West Water Street reported someone slashed her cousin’s tires at the residence. A report was taken on criminal damaging.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 200 block of Mace Drive. The scene checked OK.

– Officers responded to an activated alarm in the 300 block of Sycamore Drive. The scene checked OK.

– A resident in the 300 block of Weldon Avenue reported he couldn’t find his wallet. A report was taken on theft.

– A resident in the 400 block of Watt Street reported finding a syringe in her front yard. Officers located and disposed of the item.

– A caller reported she was almost in a traffic accident on South Court Street at Ohio Street due to two female on either side of the road throwing a hula hoop back and forth. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.

– April Brown was arrested for obstruction following a traffic stop on East Mound Street.

– A caller reported vehicles were drag racing on Renick Avenue. Officers were unable to locate the vehicles.

– A resident in the 500 block of East Main Street came to the police station to report threats or harassment. The call was handled, and officers determined no threats/harassment occurred.

– A caller reported an elderly male subject was staring at the ground at the PNC Bank drive-thru and was possibly under the influence. A squad was requested, and an officer transported the male back to his residence.

– An employee at Rural King reported theft from skids at the rear of the business. A vehicle was impounded, and a report was taken on theft.

– A 911 caller reported a possible drunk driver driving recklessly westbound on East Ohio Street from South Washington. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.

– A resident in the 200 block of Logan Street reported two males had been at the back of his residence knocking on windows and were last seen walking toward Town Street. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.
