PICKAWAY – Pickaway County Sheriffs’ office is investigating the two dozen thefts that occurred from vehicles in the Madison, Jackson, and Washington Township areas that have been reported in the last weeks.

A total of 24 total thefts have been reported, with the possibility of others that have gone unreported in the area.

All according to detectives have been with the same means of operation. The suspect, who is believed to be the same in all of the cases based on security camera footage, approaches the vehicles and checks inside of them with a flashlight. They then check to see if the vehicle is unlocked. If it is, they go inside and take whatever they can.

The suspect is a Caucasian male, slim build, roughly 5’10”-6”1”

Among items taken were handguns, crossbows, cash, credit/debit cards, and power tools. A vehicle was also taken, but was recovered by Deputies off of Radcliffe Road in Circleville shortly after it was reported stolen.

The Sheriffs office is requesting that if anyone has any information to please contact the office at (740) 474-2176, and would also like to remind residents to keep any valuable items inside their homes at night and to keep their vehicles locked, even in rural areas.
