PICKAWAY – Pickaway County Health announced a health emergency on Saturday March 21, 2020 at 4 pm and notified the public on Sunday March 22, 2020 around 4pm.
According to the order they published this morning the numbers are wrong there are currently there are 351 confirmed cases in Ohio in 40 counties two of those counties do border Pickaway County. There are 83 of those people in hospitals at this time. Three people have died. Ohio is only testing those who fit the high risk criteria, if you have symptoms most doctors will tell you to rest at home and will give you proper instructions. Care will be done over the phone and you will be instructed to stay home with others that have been around you.
The Pickaway County Health Board made the emergency declaration because it gives the board the ability to quarantine, order testing and take other actions not allowed by law unless the board gives the order.
