COLUMBUS – During Dewines 2 pm press conference, protest erupted on the state house grounds of people done with social-distancing restrictions and Stay at home orders.

In the video you can see a group of about 70 plus protestors on the lawn in the downtown Columbus location asking for a end to the isolation. Most protesters at the time did practice social distancing during the protest.

A majority of the protest was about work related situations, the closing of non-essential business, and banning of mass gatherings.

During Dr. Amy Acton report today you can hear the protest in the background, Acton recognized this protest and made the following comments.

“I don’t know if you can hear, there are people protesting right outside the statehouse. People are worried, they’re afraid. They’re worried about their jobs, we are working very hard on how we are going to get through this beyond this. This is a hard mountain to climb. My husband and I tried to climb the highest mountain in the United States, Mount Whitney. Climbing mountains takes an incredible amount of teamwork, it takes patience.”
