Heather Jeanette Erlich, age 38, of Canal Winchester, formerly of Circleville, died unexpectedly on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Berger Hospital in Circleville. Born November 1, 1979 in Lancaster, she was a graduate of Circleville High School, Ohio University, and received her MBA from Franklin University. She was employed at Power Distributors in Hilliard.
She is survived by her husband, William Erlich; daughters, Emily and Carly; parents, Gary and Becky McVey, Circleville; brother, Tim (Tiffany) McVey, Pataskala; Linda Black, best friend/”sister” and her daughter, Isabella, Canal Winchester; great-grandmother, Rheta Maccombs, The Plains; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Paul Maccombs, Charles and Zelma McVey.
Heather was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Ohio State Football Fan. She volunteered monthly at Ronald McDonald House. She had deep love for other people, and demonstrated an amazing capacity for showing empathy and compassion to all with whom she came in contact. But her main focus was on her family. She especially loved their annual trip to be with extended family at Lake Hope Laurel Lodge, and she looked forward to each Thursday night family dinner and game night. Heather was a natural born mother. Even before the birth of her own daughter, she was the mother figure to many others who frequently looked to her for love and advice.
Visitation hours will be from Saturday noon to 3:00 p.m. at DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 650 W. Waterloo Street, Canal Winchester, where a memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Buskirk officiating.
A meal will be served at Newlife Community Church, 6305 Waterloo Road, NW, Canal Winchester following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to Emily and Carly’s college fund (by donating a check or cash in either of the girl’s names) or to Ronald McDonald House at RMHC-CENTRALOHIO.org

  1. It makes me very sad to hear about the passing of Heather! Heather and her entire family welcomed my son and I into their home on Christmas Day so that I did not have to spend it all alone. They were even so gracious as to give a few gifts to myself and my son. Heather and her family are a true blessing and I will ALWAYS remember her beautiful personality and giving soul!
