US – Stimulus checks of 600 dollars a person have been sent out to some people’s bank accounts over the holiday weekend, but some people are still waiting and this is the best way to check.

According to the federal government checks for the 2nd round of stimulus will be mailed out this week, and the IRS is reporting delay due to COVID-19 mail processing, and they are asking to not file a second tax return or call the IRS.

The best way to check your status or to contact the government over what you did receive is to go here: https://www.irs.gov/refunds. This will give you the status on where that relief money is.

When should I contact the IRS?

Expect delays if you mailed a paper return or had to respond to an IRS inquiry about your e-filed return. You should only call if it has been:

  • 21 days or more since you e-filed
  • “Where’s My Refund” tells you to contact the IRS

Do not file a second tax return.

Paycheck Checkup: you can use the IRS Tax Withholding Estimator to help make sure your withholding is right for 2021.
