CIRCLEVILLE – Memorial day was set to be a day of remembrance for soldiers and service members who were lost in the line of duty. Soldiers Monumental Association of Pickaway County sets up the parade every year for the fallen.

The Parade will start at 9am on Monday the 27th, at the High Street Cemetery where they will have a memorial service starting at 8:15am. Retired Lt. Col. Kathy Lowrey Gallowitz will speak. Bob Johnson and His Wife Marilyn Johnson are the first ever dual pair grand Marshals of the Parade. They originally met and have been together since the service.

The parade route will be from East High Street by Pickaway Board of Developmental Disabilities then south down Pickaway, West on Main, and then north on Court street. The parade will end at Forest Cemetery on North Court Street where they will have a service at 10 am with Col. Patrick Callender a man that has had tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan in his career.

Additionally the Association will have a second ceremony at at the Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery located at 1819 Hitler Rd 1, in Circleville at 11:30.

Ashville will have a service also at 2pm, located at 1680 Winchester road in Walnut Township.

Harrison Township will hold their annual Memorial Day service at 11 am at 5001 Union Street
