STONINGTON – A rare lobster has been pulled out of the cold Atlantic Waters of Southern Maine this week. According to Maine Center for Coast fisheries this mutation may be a first!
“The bi-color lobster most likely a gene mutation of the lobster,” said the fisheries on the facebook post, “Its one in 50 million, but not the rarest lobster they said. A albino lobster is 1 in 100 million.”
Caught by island fisherman, Captain Daryl Dunham, F/V Force of Habit.
The fishery collects and keeps the rare lobsters that fishermen catch in a cold water specially made tank. This is for native Mainers and tourists to see.
