CIRCLEVILLE – A house fire broke out today March 23, 2018, at approximately 2:30 pm. The Home located at 375 Eva Drive in Circleville.  A phone call from a neighboring home called 911, reporting the house fire. “We had 3 of our guys out doing driver training on one of the trucks, so we were able to get to location pretty quick. When firefighters arrived on the scene, the fire had already spread from the rear left of 375 Eva to the neighboring home 381 Eva,” said Lt. Robinson.

Lt. Robinson explains, “Both trucks arrived almost simultaneously both 101 and 102 trucks. So we were able to have the full crew on of 5 people to battle the fire. Luckily we had two off-duty Pickaway fire fighters close to the scene. They stopped and helped us hook up to the hydrants quickly. Originally we had reports that two people were inside the 375 “blue home”, lucky that wasn’t the case, and worked out in our favor because trying to deal with a two-story home, plus the neighboring home on fire would have made this a lot more challenging with Circleville’s crew of 5 total firefighters on duty.”

Local firefighters were able to prevent further spread of the fire into 381 Eva “white home”, preventing the loss of two homes instead of just one. According to Circleville Fire Department, the probable cause of the fire was electrical. Neighboring house 381 Eva “white home” suffered fire damage to right garage side only because of the quick work of local fire.

Circleville Fire Lieutenant Robinson said, “The aid of neighboring firefighters quick response helped save a second home loss. Harrison, Pickaway and Circleville Fire Departments were on scene including some off-duty firefighters who chose to go above and beyond, Also local Circleville Police.”

1 out of 7 cats from 381 Eva is missing at the time of the story, no other injuries or missing people. We will keep you updated if the one missing is found.
