Lancaster Mayor Shuts Down Streets Again for Protests

LANCASTER – Lancaster Mayor says that he will be closing certain downtown streets for safety after last weeks eruption of protests from both sides and erratic driving caused some concerns.


Main Street, High to Memorial, and Broad and Columbus Streets, Wheeling to Chestnut, will be closed from late afternoon today through the evening.

According to Mayor David Scheffler, “we are taking the precaution of closing these streets to protect Lancaster citizens from harm during expected demonstrations today.”
