May 7, 2020
Deputies took a theft report from a West Logan resident. The theft alleged a deception was made to complete a sale. The case remains under investigation.—–
May 9, 2020


Deputies responded to an Apple Max Rd. residence for a domestic argument. After investigating the matter, deputies charged Rachel Stillwell, 31, Logan with Violation of a Protection Order.—–
May 12, 2020
Deputies responded to a cabin on Amerine Rd. for a burglary complaint. Deputies processed and collected evidence from the scene to submit to the BCI crime lab for analysis. The case remains under investigation.—–

Deputies responded to a Hayden Place Apartment for a domestic violence complaint. After investigation, deputies arrested David F. Anderson, 33, Logan and charged him with Domestic Violence and Assault. Anderson was transported to the SEORJ.—–

Deputies responded to a 911 hang up call at a Fairhaven Dr. residence. After arriving and investigating the matter, deputies learned that an argument had occurred, but no violence. No charges were filed.—–
May 14, 2020
Deputies were contacted by Fairfield County Sheriff’s detectives to assist in recovering a stolen trailer in Laurelville. Deputies located and seized the trailer. Detectives also interviewed a suspect. The case was turned over to Fairfield SO.—–

Deputies responded to a Main St. Rockbridge residence for a burglary complaint. Deputies collected evidence. The case remains under investigation.—–

Deputies took a report from a resident in which they received an anonymous letter in the mail that made derogatory statements. The victim wanted the incident documented.—–

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Company Rd. for an equipment violation. K9 Dzek was deployed and indicated the presence of drugs in the vehicle. A search found drugs to be methamphetamine and other paraphernalia. Deputies identified the suspects. The drugs will be submitted to the BCI crime lab for analysis and future indictment.—–

Deputies responded to a Gore-Greendale Rd. residence for a domestic argument. No violence occurred and no charges were filed.—–

Deputies responded to a Mohler Rd. residence for a domestic violence complaint. After an investigation, deputies forwarded potential criminal charges to the Prosecutor’s Office for review.—–
May 16, 2020
Deputies responded to a SR 93 residence for a shooting complaint. The victims told deputies that the suspect arrived at their residence after an earlier confrontation. Another confrontation ensued and shots were fired into the ground and the suspect left. Deputies located and interviewed the suspect who told deputies that one of the victims had pulled a knife out when they arrived at the residence and that’s why they shot into the ground. No injuries were reported. Charges for aggravated menacing were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office.—–

Deputies responded to a SR 56 residence for a domestic argument. No violence occurred and no charges were filed.—–

Deputies investigated a single vehicle motorcycle crash on Maysville-Williams Rd. The driver reported that two dogs entered the roadway causing the driver to lose control and crash. No citations were issued.—–
May 17, 2020
Detectives were following up on an investigation at a Third St. Logan residence. Detectives saw a rifle when they entered the residence of Christopher L. Schuyler, 39, Logan. Schuyler is a registered sex offender and prohibited from possessing firearms. Schuyler was arrested and charged with Having Weapons Under Disability and transported to the SEORJ.—–
May 17, 2020
Deputies responded to a White Rd. residence to assist HCEMS with a highly intoxicated person. Deputies found Jamie L. Oakes, 43, Nelsonville outside the residence passed out. When awoken, Oakes became combative. Oakes was medically cleared, arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct. Oakes was transported to the SEORJ.—–

Deputies took a report of an accidental self-inflicted gunshot. The victim told deputies that when they moved their 22 caliber rifle it accidently fired, striking them in the calf. The victim sought medical treatment.—–

Deputies were requested to assist in locating an endangered person suffering from a medical condition by the Ohio State Highway Patrol Ross County Post. Deputies began to actively look for the person and eventually found them on Pump Station Rd. They were transported to HVCH for medical treatment.
