February 14, 2020
The Sheriff’s Office received a report of a sexual offense against a minor. It was determined that the offense had taken place in Athens County. The case was referred to the Athens County Sheriff’s Office for investigation.—–
February 14, 2020
A SR 278 resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a theft. The victim told deputies that a friend had taken a computer. Deputies later obtained the computer and returned it to the owner.—–

A SR 93 resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a theft. The case remains under investigation.—–
February 15, 2020
Deputies responded to a Mohler Rd. residence for an abandoned vehicle complaint. After investigation, the deputies learned the vehicle was reported stolen from the City of Logan. Deputies processed and collected evidence from the vehicle which will be submitted to the BCI crime lab for analysis. The case remains under investigation.—–

Deputies responded to a Hock Hocking Dr. residence for a verbal argument. No violence occurred and no charges were filed.—–

A resident of a halfway house in Lancaster reported to deputies that they believed a theft offense had occurred because of the residence being sold at Sheriff’s Sale and a divorce proceeding while they had been incarcerated. Deputies told the complainant this was a civil matter, not a criminal matter.—–

Deputies responded to a Murray City fraternal organization for a theft complaint. It is alleged by the complainants that a former employee had committed a theft offense. The case remains under investigation.—–

An Adams Ave. resident came to the Sheriff’s Office to report a criminal trespass. The complainant told deputies that they had been alerted to motion on their front porch by a video door bell. The complainant posted the video to Facebook and provided deputies with a suspect that had been identified by persons viewing the video. The case remains under investigation.—–
February 18, 2020
Deputies responded to a Laurel Run Rd. residence after the resident had found a two year old child unaccompanied in the road. Deputies and Children’s Services case worker were able to identify the child and the caretaker. It was determined that the caretaker had been abusing drugs. The child was released to a responsible relative. The case remains under investigation.—–

Deputies responded to a Harvey Chapel Rd. residence for a burglary complaint. Detectives responded to the scene, processed and collected evidence. The case remains under investigation.—–

Deputies responded to a domestic violence situation at a Griffith Rd. residence. After investigation, deputies arrested Kacey J. Cook, 24, Logan and charged him with Domestic Violence and Aggravated Menacing. Cook was transported to the SEORJ.—–

Deputies responded to a Tolliver Rd. residence for an unruly juvenile complaint. No action was taken.—–
February 20, 2020
Deputies responded to assist HCEMS for an overdose at a Cohagen Rd. residence. HCEMS transported to HVCH.—–
February 20, 2020
Deputies received a complaint of a juvenile that was having a suicidal and homicidal ideations. The case was referred to the Mental Health Deputy supervisor and Children’s Services for follow up.
