Governor Dewine Orders National Guard to Active Duty for Inauguration

OHIO – Governor Dewine has activated 580 Ohio National guard soldiers and Airmen into State active duty on Tuesday.

“People have the right to protest. They do not have the right to be destructive or hurt other people,” said Dewine, “We welcome peaceful protesters, but we saw what happened at the Capitol, so we are concerned.”

The Governor said that these men and women will be training in preparation to assist during the presidential inauguration in Washington DC, some will help in Ohio.

This comes after last weeks Capitol Attacks that four people lost their lives and one police officer.
