FRANKLIN – Overdose deaths are extreme in Franklin County today as Franklin County Morgue Announces five death in less than 12 hours.

Overdose spikes are usually signs of drugs being cut with Fentanyl and Carfentanil drugs that make the drug cheaper to make. Often Fentanyl overdoses can result in death because life saving Narcan is ineffective against it.

Dr. Anahi Ortiz the Franklin County Coroner says, “family and friends of those affected please carry naloxone and urge your loved ones to use fentanyl testing strips. You can search for treatment facilities at www.findtreatment.gov and for other resources go to : https://www.columbus.gov/…/Alcoh…/Opiate-Crisis-Information/”
