FAIRFIELD – Fairfield County Sheriffs office is opening up its door and offering “Free Safety Training to area churches for a violent intruder threat to their church.”

Since August 2015, The Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office began offering “free safety training to area churches on how to respond to a violent intruder threat to their church”.
The Church Response to Emergency Situation Training (CREST) was developed by Chief Deputy Alex Lape.
On its inception, the training was presented to over 300 Church members from across the county. The Sheriff’s office also conducted a similar training to over 950 county employees.
Since that time, we have continued CREST training for all places of worship, businesses and have adopted the Alert, Lock Down, Inform, Counter, Evacuate (ALICE) style training for our schools.
If your church or business would be interested in this free safety training, feel free to contact Sgt. Forrest Cassel at 740-652-7902
