Dustin P. “Dusty” Shaeffer, 33, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday October 24, 2017 at his residence in Leesburg, Ohio.  He was born August 13, 1984 in Lancaster and was the son of Paul and Pamela (Lawson) Shaeffer who survives.  Dusty was a 2002 graduate of Lancaster High School and was currently employed at Dakota’s Steak House in Hillsboro, Ohio.  He loved sports including the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Kenny Shaeffer of Lancaster; sisters, Audra (Marcus) Byler of Leesburg and Megan Shaeffer of Lancaster; two nephews, Lane and Reed Byler and a niece, Cheyenne Byler; grandparents, Don and EvaLou Lawson of Pleasantville and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.  He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Merle and Sadie Shaeffer and an aunt, Sandy Houck.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Taylor Funeral Home in Amanda with Pastor Andy Good officiating.  Burial will follow in Marcum Memorial Cemetery in Wilkesville, Ohio.  Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The family would like contributions to the Taylor Funeral Home, P.O. Box 176, Amanda, Ohio 43102 to help with expenses.

  1. Dusty and I grew up together, had fun together, got in trouble together… we were like brothers.
