WILLIAMSPORT – As Spring settles in and the start of the festivals and events are upon us, the awaking of stay-at-home orders comes to fruition with the cancelations of yearly festivals around the area.
Earlier today the Feast of the Flowering Moon posted that they will listen to order from Dewine and not assemble for the year, and a few hours after that DeerCreek Dam Days festival followed suit.
“We are sad to announce that the 2020 Deercreek Dam Days Festival has been cancelled due to the recent events of the Covid-19 pandemic. It was a tough decision for the committee but we know it is in the best interest of our community, said The festival management on facebook.
The festival leaders said that even though this is a tough decision they still wanted to do something for the Williamsport community with a possible event in the future.
“We have some ideas in mind for a one day community event that we can hold once we would be permitted to do so. Stay tuned for details!”
