COMMERICAL POINT – Commerical Point Karting classic says that they are going to wait until the green flag is waved after the COVID-19 pandemic and are cancelling the 2020 season.

Usually the first week in August the Village of Commercial Point,Ohio shuts down its downtown roads and sets up a unique racetrack. Karters and fans of all ages will enjoy an unforgettable weekend of entertainment and racing action.

This year the company has decided to forgo the event because of COVID-19 pandemic reasons.
“For the safety of our community, volunteers, and racers, the 2020 Commercial Point Karting Classic has been canceled. In these challenging times we ask that you continue to support the local businesses, organizations, and sponsors that generously support the Karting Classic year after year. Please stay safe as we patiently wait to wave the green flag again in August 2021,” Commerical Point Karting Classic said in a online post.

This decision did not go over well with Kart racers that felt that this should remain open. Some on the online post claimed that other race tracks remained open even during the pandemic, but the Classic said “that it was impossible to control spectators on a public track vs private and other factors.”

The event not only brings in your face racing to the town but thousands of race watchers that helps support the local economy.
