“Circleville Santa” Gives Over 200 Presents to Toys For Tots After Passing

CIRCLEVILLE -“A little over 200 toys donated to Toys for Tots because of my father in laws passing. And $1200 in cash. He is still giving back to the kids of this community, said Mark Sandy.

Burl Bowling passed away on May 1, 2019 at Doctors Hospital, he was well know in the town as Circleville’s Santa or the Country Singing Santa. Bowling loved to give back to the community, he loved kids and he loved his family.

“He never met a stranger, His band provided benefits for families struggling with illnesses, He loved his job as Santa,” according to his obituary.

During his funeral service Bowlings Family asked for something diffrent they asked for toy donations so Circleville Santa could continue to give even in death. Over 500 people poured into Wallmans Funeral Home that day to pay respects. The family had set up a Christmas Tree in a corner so visitors could place the items they brought under that tree. According to Mark Sandy they collected over 200 toys that day and had 1,200 in cash and those items will be donated today to Toys for Tots in his honor.
“He is still giving back to the kids of this community, said Sandy, “the funeral itself was an amazing tribute to my father-in-law and I want to say thank you for that.”
