US – The CDC has released its guidelines for Thanksgiving during the COVID-19 pandemic aiming at social distancing and mask wearing for families during a time when most families spend time together.

According to the CDC guidelines and suggestions you should assess current COVID-19 levels in your community to determine if you should postpone, cancel, or limit the number of people invited to Thanksgiving.

Some of the suggestions say that you should consider celebrating Thanksgiving outside during November because it is safer than inside due to spread. You should consider limiting the number of people at the gathering and not invite people from areas of the country with high spread. You should not invite people who are not adhering to social distancing orders, mask wearing, hand washing, and other prevention behaviors pose more risk than gatherings with attendees who are engaging in these preventative behaviors.

Provide safety guidelines that have updated information to prevent the spread of the virus, ask all guests to limit contact with other people 14 days before the gathering.

Ask family members to limit singing, chanting, or shouting during Thanksgiving events.
