MINNEAPOLIS – According to Minneapolis state authorities the man who had his knee on George Floyd’s neck has been taken into custody today.

The officer, Derek Chauvin, was taken into custody by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension while the area suffers a third day of destruction due to protests and rioting in the area calling for justice for George Floyd.

The Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz called for the former officers arrest days before, and calls for order after nights of rioting has destroyed areas of the 3rd precinct.
