PORTSMOUTH – Shawnee State University has announced that they have quarantined a group of people due to suspected coronavirus cases, and Chillicothe VA is currently screening people who have left the country or have been in contact with people who have.
Statement from Shawnee State University, “Three suspected coronavirus cases are under investigation at Shawnee State University. All persons who were possibly in contact are being quarantined. We are working under the guidance of the Portsmouth City Health Department and anticipate results in 24 to 48 hours. There is no interruption in campus operations at this time. Chillicothe VA says that the high number of Flu cases has put the location on Alrrt and questioning people, “In an effort to protect the health of Veterans and visitors at the Chillicothe VA and Community Clinics, those accessing the VA will be screened at the entrances prior to admission onto campus. If you have symptoms of fever, cough, and shortness of breath AND have either recently travelled outside of the state or have direct exposure to others diagnosed with coronavirus, call your healthcare provider and tell them of your symptoms and recent travel and/or exposure.”
