Gallipolis – The search for a missing woman has ended in tragedy. According to a press release by Gallipolis Police Department the body of Miranda Thompson was found in a Wooded area of Gallia County. Currently a investagtion is underway around the situation.
PRESS RELEASE: An update has been released on a joint investigation being conducted by the Gallia County Sheriff’s Office, the Gallipolis Police Department and the Ohio Attorney General’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation (B.C.I.) into the deceased individual who was located in a wooded area in Gallipolis Township on Sunday, November 4, 2018.
Sheriff Matt Champlin and Chief Jeff Boyer have released the identity of the person who was located in this investigation as Miranda Thompson, who had previously been reported as a missing person to the Gallipolis Police Department. At this time, the circumstances surrounding Ms. Thompson’s death are still under investigation and no further details are available at this time.Sheriff Champlin states “our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Ms. Thompson during this very difficult time. Our agencies are working diligently to conduct a thorough investigation into the events which led to Ms. Thompson’s death and we will continue the investigation until we can answer those questions.”
