CHILLICOTHE – An organization that aims to keep youth from drugs will perform its 150-mile relay race this weekend. This weekend April 16th & 17th the organization will return after last year going virtual.

The organization supports local Drug-Free Clubs of America at local high schools called M.A.D.E. (My Attitude Determines Everything). This race will be the major fundraiser for these teenagers that represent over 2,000 members.

The Buck Fifty is a 150-mile race that has been through three state parks in the area, but that will not be run by just one individual but teams of 10 runners and two drivers to cover the area. Not this year though, Buck Fifty will be run in a new location in Downtown Chillicothe. The entire race will be run around the city throughout the two-day event.

Runners will run sections of the race and then transported to another stretch while partners run other sections. For example one runner will run section 1,11,21 and another runner will run section 2,12,22. Its a team effort!

This year according to a press release from the race they have about 74 teams of 10 people.

Since Buck Fifty has started around 2015 the non-profit organization has invested Over 500,000 dollars into teens of Ross county to fight the drug epidemic.
