South Court Street Transfer Discussed in Circleville Council

CIRCLEVILLE – More Discussion on the South Court Street Firehouse happened last night during the Circleville Council meeting.

Pickaway Progress Partnership – P3 Ryan Scribner discusses the signifigance of the obsolete firehouse property that is located on South Court Street.
Scribner says that a entity has agreed to demo the site, remediate the property (asbestos) and their expense, and develop the property thats consistant with the cities development goals.
Southern Ohio Develpment group is a locally owned development group that has already purchased the former South Court Street School and has demolished that property and prepared it for Retail/Warehouse new buisness.
Scribner says the city could take advange of the TIFF district created in this area and receive signifigant property tax dollars for the new buisness.
City Council passed the ordinace on its first reading unanimously to authorize the mayor to enter into a develpment agreement with P3 and Southern Ohio Development group to convey the ownership of the fire house located at 1220 South Court Street.
