19 Year Old Takes Police on 120 MPH Drunken Chase

LUCASVILLE – A 19 year old is being held in Scioto county jail last night after a high speed drunken car chase ensued after the 19 year old flew through a construction zone.

Joshua Longworth, 19 of Lucasville was seen driving through a construction zone on US 23 at a high rate of speed, nearly striking the Trooper and several workers in the zone.  The driver didn’t stop, he sped up and multiple units pursued the subject southbound towards Portsmouth.  Speeds of over 120 Mph according to police.

The pursuit ended when the driver lost control of his 2006 Chevy Cobalt in Rosemount by crashing into a State Patrol cruiser.

Longworth was taken into custody without further incident.  According to State High patrol he was found to be in possession of 2 loaded firearms and 5 knives.  He was charged with multiple felonies failure to comply, improper handling of a firearm while intoxicated, driving under the influence and felonious assault.

Longworth was transported to local hospital for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the crash, treated and released to police.

Portsmouth police, Rosemount police helped Ohio State Patrol in the chase.
