ROSS – Ross County Sheriff reports that a body was found this morning in a wooded area.
Shortly before 10:00 a.m. this morning search and rescue teams located the body of 53 year old Brian D. Jones in a wooded area near the Scioto River Bridge on Charleston Pike.
Mr. Jones had been reported missing on 05/24/2021 after he had went on a camping trip in the area on 05/22/2021, and never returned. Investigators were called to the scene to conduct an investigation.
At this time no foul play is suspected. Mr. Jones is in the care and custody of the Ross County Coroner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing. Ross County Search and Rescue, Ohio Search and Rescue Team 4, and the Ross County Sheriff’s Office were involved in the search.
