Nelsonville OH- Criminal(s) Refused by SEORJ Due to HIV with Open Wounds and One Pregnant

09:22AM Officers responded to W Washington St on an attempt to locate an individual. Negative contact was made at this time.

09:33AM Officers responded to W Franklin St on an attempt to locate an individual. Negative contact was made at this time. Officers then checked other known locations also with negative contact. A short while later, Officers located Bryan Decker in the area of the Public Square. Decker was taken into custody and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.

11:56AM Officers responded to Pleasentview Ave to assist Athens County Sheriff’s Office and Athens County CPS.

01:44PM Officers responded to E Canal St on an attempt to locate an individual. Negative contact was made at this time.

02:21PM Officers responded to E Canal St on an attempt to locate an individual. Negative contact was made at this time.

02:41PM Officers responded to Columbus St on a request to meet an individual in person.

02:53PM Officers responded to W Washington St for a report of a Domestic Disturbance. Officers located and spoke to the involved parties; each blaming the other individual. The individuals were given a verbal warning.

03:07PM Officers performed a vehicle stop on E Canal St. The driver of the vehicle was given a verbal warning for following to close, then release.

03:11PM Officers performed a vehicle stop on E Canal St. Criminal indicators were observed during the traffic stop so K9 Attila was released to perform a free air sniff of the vehicle to which Attila positively indicated on the passenger side door. A search revealed syringes that were seized from the vehicle.

03:24PM Officers performed a vehicle stop on E Canal St. The driver of the vehicle was given a verbal warning, then released.

03:46PM Officers responded to Watkins St for a follow up investigation pertaining to more information on a previously reported incident.

04:21PM Officers performed a vehicle stop on E Canal St. The driver of the vehicle was given a verbal warning, then released.

04:41PM Officers performed a vehicle stop on Fort St. Criminal Indicators were observed during the stop, so K9 Attila was released to perform a free air sniff of the vehicle to which Attila positively indicated on the drivers side door. The Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail was contacted about both occupants of the vehicle. SEORJ refused one individual due to no space available, and stated that since the other individual was pregnant that they would need medically cleared by an OBGYN before they could be accepted. Both individuals were released. Future indictments are pending.

05:24PM Officers made contact with an individual with confirmed active warrants. The Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail was contacted but refused to accept the individual due to the individual being HIV positive and having open wounds. The male was released.

09:50PM Officers responded to Dalton Dr for a report of an animal related complaint. The caller reported a Black/White Akita Dog loose in the area who is not friendly. Officers made contact with the owner of the dog. The dog in question was inside of the home.

11:06PM Officers performed a vehicle stop on Jackson St. The driver of the vehicle was given a verbal warning for an equipment violation, then released.
