PICKAWAY – What to do with that live Christmas tree after the New Year?  Circleville and Pickaway give options for disposal but Alum Creek Lake Us Army Corps of Engineers says that they can still use those trees for fish habitat.

Fish are always looking for new places to feel safe away from open water.  Downed trees, docks, and natural structures help fish survive against predators. Adding more of these can possibly add more fish to the lakes for fishing and for a better habitat.

How do you donate? You can donate your tree between January 9th from 9am to 2pm. There will be signs posted at the Alum Creek Visitor Center, directing you to where it may be dropped off. Questions? Call the office at (740)548-6151.

“We ask that any tree donated, be completely stripped of all decorations and not treated with any chemicals.”
