CHILLICOTHE – Aldi is moving closer to town in a million dollar renovation of a location on North Bridge Street, formally Mr. Gattis Pizza.
The location in the Chillicothe Mall was renovated in 2019, to the pizza location, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was closed a year later. Since then it has sat empty.
According to Aldi, they are investing 1.4 million dollars into the building for a full renovation and new look. Currently, Aldi is located at 1853 North Bridge Street and it is unknown if they will close that store that is at the Northern End of Chillicothe for the new store.
This isn’t the first time Aldi has renovated an older building to update their storefront and place themselves in a better location. At the beginning of the year, Aldi in Grove city took on another million dollar renovation aimed at a mothballed Kmart building just miles from their current stand-alone building. This seems like a trend for the company to get a better location to possibly boost sales.
The renovation is currently underway at the Chillicothe location it is currently unknown how long the transformation will take. Deerfield Construction company is in charge of the project.
