VIDEO: Thousands of Migrating Birds Seen on Radar, Our First Sign of Spring

FLORIDA – What goes down must come up, or something like that? Miragtory birds are starting to make their annual trips North to breeding grounds in North America and Canada, and according to Us National Weather thats starting to happen in numbers now.


A video posted by Us National Weather Services in Key West showed a busy night last night on radar but it wasn’t because of weather but migration of birds. How do they know that? According the weather station that programming can distinguish a difference between birds and weather. The video shows thousands of birds leaving the Cuban and keys areas of Florida and heading North.

In Late February Ohioans start seeing the Waterfowl (ducks, geese, and swans) are beginning to move, along with early returning birds like American Woodcock and blackbirds. It won’t be until the second week of March when we start seeing more Canadian Geese return.

Whats for sure though is that spring is 30 days away and the birds are coming to brighten our morning up.
