Two Franklin County Deputies Placed on Leave, Commissioner Condemn Actions

FRANKLIN – Two Franklin County Deputies were placed on paid leave following investigation effective immediately.



According to Franklin County sheriffs office, one deputy was place on leave under the suspicion of violation of the sheriffs office and social media police and inattention to duty. The second deputy was placed on leave under suspicion of inattention of duty.

Sheriff Balwin released this statement, “All FCSO employees are held to the shiest ethical and professional standards. Anything less will demand accountability.”



Commissioner Boyce also released a statement condemning the actions of the deputies, “Commissioner Boyce condemns the disrespectful and irresponsible actions of the two deputies who were suspended earlier this evening, and looks forward to a swift and thorough investigation, as well as to any appropriate discipline. There is no room in Franklin County for deputy sheriffs who are not able to approach their job with the objectivity and respect that our residents deserve.”
