Southern Ohio Sheriff Department Busts Two Out of State Men With Hard Drugs

JACKSON – Jackson SHeriff department is reporting that seized some serious drugs off the street that may have been heading for Trafficking.

According to the Sheriffs department on Tuesday, April 13 at approximately 9:45 p.m. a Jackson County Sheriff Deputy was traveling east on US Route 35, near milepost 11, when he observed a 2009 Cadillac DTS, bearing Michigan registration, commit a marked lane traffic violation. The driver failed to signal a lane change within 100 feet.During the traffic stop, the driver was identified as 33-year-old William Jones, of Hurricane, WV. Jones had a suspended West Virginia driver’s license. Jones and is passenger, 47-year-old Carlos Allmon of Childersburg, AL, were detained for questioning after acting suspicious. One of the males admitted that they were traveling from Detroit, Michigan, while the other claimed they were traveling from Columbus, Ohio.

JCSO’s K-9 indicated on the vehicle. Assisted by the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the vehicle was searched for illicit drugs. A vacuum sealed bag, that contained blue and white pills, were discovered inconspicuously placed in the roof-liner of the vehicle.

The estimated street value of the narcotics, identified as Oxycodone Hydrochloride and Oxycontin Hydrocodone, is $13,680. Authorities also seized $860 cash from Jones’ wallet.Jones signed a seizure notice for the $860 cash. Both men were then released from custody.

Charges are pending while the narcotics, discovered in the vehicle, are identified by the Ohio Bureau of Investigation’s lab. Once test results are received, the case will be reviewed by the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office for possible filing of charges against the two men.
