Southern Ohio Construction Updates, Find out Where the Cones Are

SOUTHERN OHIO – The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Pickaway County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.


PICKAWAY COUNTY OHIO

U.S. Route 62 Bridge Replacement – The U.S. 62 bridge over Deer Creek will close starting Monday, March 15 through September 2021 for bridge replacement. Detour: U.S. 62 to I-71 to SR 56 to U.S. 62 or reverse.

ROSS COUNTY OHIO

NEW* State Route 28 Resurfacing – S.R. 28 will be reduced to one lane daily from 7 AM to 5 PM between S.R. 138 and Harper Station Road starting April 15. Traffic will be maintained using flaggers. Estimated completion: Summer 2021

NEW* State Route 104 Resurfacing – S.R. 104 will be reduced to one lane daily between Fairgrounds Road and the Pickaway County Line from 7 AM to 5 PM starting April 19. Estimated completion: Summer 2021

State Route 41 Slide Repair – S.R. 41 will be closed for two weeks between Tong Hollow Road and Falls Road starting April 5 at 7 AM. Traffic will be detoured via U.S. 50 and S.R. 28. Estimated completion: April 16 by 3:30 PM

Scioto Trails State Park Culvert Replacement – Scioto Trails Forest Road 5 will be closed for 60 days near the intersection with Stony Creek Road starting March 22. Estimated completion: Spring 2021

Tar Hollow State Park Slide Repair – Park Road 10 will be closed for 30 days in Tar Hollow State Park for a slide repair project starting March 15 at 7 AM. Estimated completion: May 14.

U.S. 23 Slide Repair – U.S. 23 northbound will experience intermittent single lane closures as needed. Closures will occur between 7 AM and 5 PM. Estimated completion: Spring 2021

Ross County Guardrail Replacement – Various county roads will be reduced to one lane daily from 7 AM to 5 PM starting March 1. Traffic will be maintained using flaggers. Estimated completion: Summer 2021

Fairfiled COUNTY OHIO

State Route 204 resurfacing between State Route 158 and State Route 256 in PickeringtonSR 204 resurfacing project between SR 158 and SR 256 in Pickerington also includes turn lane addition at the Harmon Road intersection. One lane of traffic will be maintained with flaggers for resurfacing. Estimated project completion is Summer 2021.

FAYETTE COUNTY OHIO

Interstate 71

NEW IMPACTS
I-71 Resurfacing – I-71 northbound and southbound between SR 38 and Prairie Rd. will have nightly lane restrictions (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.)  starting Monday, April 12 through Thursday, April 15 for pavement repairs. 

  • The SR 38 ramp to I-71 southbound will close overnight (7 p.m. – 7 a.m.) on Monday, April 12 and Friday, April 16. 
    • Detour: I-71 northbound to SR 56 to I-71 southbound.
  • The I-71 southbound ramp to SR 38 will close overnight (10 p.m. – 8 a.m.) on Friday, April 16. 
    • Detour: I-71 southbound to SR 41 to SR 38 northbound.

U.S. Route 62

U.S. Route 62 intersection safety – Add new left turn lanes on U.S. 62 at the SR 38 intersection. Estimated completion: Spring 2021


CONTINUING IMPACTS
The intersection U.S. Route 62 and SR 38 will have various daily lane restrictions (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.) starting Monday, April 5 through Friday, April 16. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers

HOCKING COUNTY OHIO

SR 56 bridge project – A bridge approach slab and guardrail repair project begins on April 12 on SR 56, between Big Pine Road (County Road 11) and Election Road (Township Road 397). One lane will be closed. Temporary traffic signals and a 12 foot width restriction will be in place. Estimated completion: April 22, 2021
