Subject: VOLUNTARY Boil Advisory Issue for the Village of South Bloomfield

Residents,
Out of an abundance of caution, we have been advised to place all Municipal water on a voluntary Boil Advisory. At approximately 10am this morning, while conducting maintenance on a valve inside the water plant, a valve failed thus causing a decrease in pressure. We were able to regain pressure by using our emergency connection with Ashville. However, the duration of pressure loss warrants a VOLUNTARY boil advisory.

The Village is recommending all water used for drinking or cooking is boiled per OEPA recommendations (see attached) until Wednesday January 29th at 8:00 am. This will allow for testing to be completed by an outside laboratory. This is not a requirement only a recommendation with public safety being first. We have no reason to believe the water is contaminated. Please understand this is for precautionary measures.
We are deeply sorry for those inconvenience.
