Ross County Man Pleaded Guilty to Kidnapping and Rape of 12-Year-Old

ROSS – A Man who fled after being put out on bond for charges of abduction and rape of a 12-year-old-girl. He was arrested in February 22 by Ross county sheriffs office and charged with rape, attempted rape, and abduction. Mr. Morrison failed to appear while on bond for his jury trial in Common Pleas Court on 05/07/2019, and a warrant went out for his arrest, and he was later arrested.

Today in court he pleaded guilty to rape and kidnapping of the young girl. Heath Morrison of 1941 Trego Creek road was sentenced to 15 years to life of (4) counts of rape, one count of kidnapping and one count of attempted rape. Each felony count includes minimum time of more than 5 years each, but all will run concurrently.

Morrison was supposed to stand trial in June, heres the old updates on him,

Sheriff Lavender is attempting to locate Heath Morrison. Mr. Morrison failed to appear while on bond for his jury trial in Common Pleas Court on 05/07/2019. Heath Morrison is  Morrison was being held on a 125,000 dollar bond, that bond was modified inApril to 500,000 that was paid in July by a bond company.

A warrant for Morrisons arrest is now been issued, and the bond company Buckeye Bonds is also hunting for the man.

Update 06/03/2019:
Mr. Morrison was taken into custody by patrol deputies at approximately 3:30 p.m. after a tip was received from a community member.
