Portsmouth OH- Search Warrant Nets Drugs, Guns, Cash and Two Suspects

Portsmouth OH- Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini and Interim Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer announce that two persons have been arrested after a search warrant was executed at a Portsmouth residence.

On January 20, 2020 at 1:25p.m. the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force assisted by Portsmouth Police Dept. SWAT and a Portsmouth P.D. canine executed a search warrant at the residence of 40 year old Carson Craft located at 4141 Hill Rd. Portsmouth, Ohio.

During a search of the residence, officers seized three firearms, approximately $2500 cash, digital scales, a small bag containing an unknown powder, and a small amount of suspected marijuana.

Craft was arrested and charged with Having a Weapon While Under Disability, a felony of the 3rd degree. 35 year old Tommy Jones of Dayton, Ohio was also arrested at the request of the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for allegedly violating parole.

Craft and Jones were placed in the Scioto County Jail. Craft was to be arraigned on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 9:00a.m. in Portsmouth Municipal Court. A holder has been placed on Jones by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority.

Cases against Craft and Jones will eventually be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County Grand Jury for the consideration of additional felony charges.
